Jonathan Berry
After working in the City for over 25 years I joined The McLeod Centre for Learning in 2011 as Office Manager before taking over the business in 2020.
Founder & Handrwriting specalist
Amanda Mcleod
Amanda is a highly skilled educator with extensive experience in state and private education, holding a BA from King's College London, a PGCE from Roehampton, a Diploma in Special Educational Needs, and AMBDA certification. She is a committee member of the National Handwriting Association, Chief Judge of the SATIPS handwriting competition, a frequent radio speaker on handwriting, and an author for the Scholastic R-Yr 6 series.
Dyslexia Specialist
Gill Salamons
Experienced and dedicated specialist teacher, supporting students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, and ADHD. A full member of PATOSS, I design bespoke, multi-sensory teaching programmes to improve literacy, study skills, and exam techniques. Since 2003, I have worked in a range of educational settings, and since 2012, I have been a teacher at the McLeod Centre for Learning. Passionate about helping students reach their full potential.

Rob Jennings
Rob has over 15 years of experience teaching young people with special needs, with the past decade focused on helping children struggling with Maths in both independent and state schools. As Head of Maths at Emerson House LLP and Head of Learning Support at Westminster Abbey Choir School, he has developed and delivered personalised intervention plans and now provides Maths inset training and lesson support across London and the UK.

Alex Stacey
Alex Stacey is a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience. She trained at St. Mary’s University Twickenham and has held various roles, including class teacher, deputy headteacher, headteacher, and SENCO. Alex is qualified with the NPQH and a National Qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination.
As a SENCO, Alex developed a deep understanding of the education system and completed specialized courses in TEACCH, Colourful Semantics, Precision Teaching, and ELKLAN. She remains current with research and innovative teaching methods.
Four years ago, Alex transitioned to tutoring as her own children, now 15 and 11, grew older. She lives with her husband, a headteacher, and their two children. Her extensive experience and dedication make her a valuable asset to any learning environment.

Verity Hill
A qualified and dedicated teacher for those with Specific Learning Difficulties with experience of both special school and mainstream settings.
An ex mainstream school SENDCo, leading and managing the learning support department. Currently completing children’s counselling training with Place2Be and trained in Mental Health First Aid.

Nesty Boyd
Nesty Boyd brings 25 years of experience as a primary school special educational needs teacher and SENCO. Passionate about the importance of handwriting, Nesty believes it is fundamental to a child’s educational journey. She emphasises that handwriting supports key skills like visualisation, memory, and hand-eye coordination. While technology has made touch typing prevalent, Nesty advocates for the distinct value of writing by hand, recognizing its unique benefits alongside digital skills.

Christine Kelly
Christine has worked in the educational system for decades now, specialising in teaching Children with Special Educational Needs.
Qualified to the OCR Level 5 Diploma in teaching Pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties; Christine works one-to-one (in-person and via Skype/Zoom) with children who have dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and autism on a daily basis.
Furthermore, she has taught over five hundred students touch-typing with their ages ranging from six to seventy-two and was the Educational Consultant for the Children’s book ‘Who put the Spell into Spelling’.

Charlie Beach
I am a Qualified Teacher, specialising in Math, Phonics, Touch Typing and Physical Education. I have been teaching for 8 years and have had experience in teaching Key stage 1, Key stage 2 and Key stage 3.
I have recently completed my NPQL in behaviour and culture, which has allowed me to gain the knowledge and expertise in supporting pupils who may demonstrate challenging behaviour within school.
Illustrator and Coach
Molly Hickey
I was educated at Bryanston and Edinburgh, and have since had parallel careers as an illustrator and scientist.
My work is known to the children via display in the centre, and featuring in the supportive ‘who put the spell into spelling’ series.
I offer coaching to cultivate creative expression through storycraft and illustration, exploring imagination, self reflection, and connection to the spark of enthusiasm.
Dyslexia specialist
Louise Whitehead
Qualified at Level 5 in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) for Key Stages 1 and 2, obtained from the renowned Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre in Farnham.
Specialised in providing tailored support and interventions to help young learners overcome challenges associated with dyslexia and other SpLDs, ensuring they achieve their full potential in the classroom.

Sarah Booth
With a Master’s in Education specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sarah brings over a decade of international teaching experience. She has worked across a diverse range of primary settings, including independent schools, state schools, ASD specialist schools, and through a teaching agency. Sarah has also taught in Australia, enriching her global perspective on education.
In addition to her teaching background, Sarah has experience with independent entry exams, including 7+ and 11+. Dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive learning environments, she is passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.

Claire Chase
I have worked in Education for almost 24 years. I am a qualified teacher and have a L5 diploma in teaching learners with dyslexia and learning difficulties. I have enjoyed working with children across many age ranges within the state and private sector. In addition to working at The McCleod Centre, I work in a delightful independent school in West London where I am part of a supportive SEN team. I am a strong advocate of multi-sensory learning.
